(2) If the engine was stopped for more than two hours, dry motor the
engine (for approximately two minutes) (AMM 71-00-00/201).
NOTE:____ Do this until the oil quantity is stable and the engine oil
temperature is more than 20 degrees C.
(a) After the dry motor procedure is done, do the steps that
follow:
1) Do the check of the oil level from between 15 minutes and
two hours after the shutdown of the engine.

(3) Open the oil access door on the left core cowl panel.

WARNING:_______DO NOT LET HOT OIL TOUCH YOU. LET FIVE MINUTES GO BY AFTER AN ENGINE SHUTDOWN TO LET THE OIL SYSTEM PRESSURE GO TO ZERO. IF YOU OPEN THE OIL SYSTEM WHEN IT HAS PRESSURE, A SPRAY OF HOT OIL CAN BURN YOU.

Remove the oil tank cap (AMM 79-11-03/201).

Measure the oil level.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT MIX OILS OF DIFFERENT TYPES OR BRAND NAMES. SOME OILS WILL CHEMICALLY CHANGE WHEN YOU MIX THEM. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET THE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. YOU CAN ABSORB THE POISONOUS MATERIALS FROM THE OIL THROUGH YOUR SKIN.
(6) Fill the engine oil tank to the top to the filler neck valve with the steps that follow.
NOTE: If the engine oil was fully drained from the engine,
____ fill the engine oil tank. Fill the oil tank until the oil starts to flow into the scupper drain.
(a) Write down the quantity of oil added.

(7) S 433-026Install the oil tank cap (AMM 79-11-03/201). (a) Examine the packing for the oil tank cap for tears or deterioration. 1) Replace the packing if you find tears or deterioration.
(8) S 413-008Close the oil access door.

APU STARTER MOTOR - SERVICING (OIL REPLENISHING)

1. General_______
A. This procedure has the task to examine the oil level in the clutch housing of the APU starter motor and to add oil to the clutch housing if it is necessary.
B. The starter motor is on the bottom forward side of the accessory gearbox. You can get access to the starter motor through the two APU access doors.
C. The starter motor has a large horizontal oil fill port to help in the oil servicing of the clutch housing.
D. Use only these types and brands of oil:
