Drain the hydraulic fluid from the shock strut or shock struts that you will service (AMM 32-13-02/301).

CAUTION: USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED HYDRAULIC FLUID WHICH IS SHOWN ON THE
_______ SHOCK STRUT. OTHER TYPES OF FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SHOCK STRUT SEALS.
DO NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON THE TIRES. THE FLUID WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TIRES.
(6) Fill the shock strut with the specified hydraulic fluid:
(a)
Remove the pressure cap from the oil fill valve on the pressure gage (View B).
(b)
Attach the hydraulic fluid line to the oil fill valve.
(c)
Make sure that the shutoff valve on the lower outer cylinder is open (View B).
NOTE: Use a 3/16-inch hex wrench to open the shutoff valve if
____ it is necessary.
(d) Fill the shock strut until the hydraulic fluid flows through the air valve port without air bubbles.

Close the oil fill valve.
(f)
If you did not use the fully formulated fluid, do these steps that follow to add Lubrizol: 1) Remove a small quantity of fluid from the shock strut.
a) Open the oil fill valve. b) Drain approximately 40 ounces of fluid from the shock strut.
NOTE: Use the graduated container.

2) Close the oil fill valve.
(g)
Remove the air charging valve.
(h)
Remove and discard the old packing (o-ring) from the air charging valve.
(i)
Add 33 ounces of Lubrizol into the shock strut through the air charging valve port.
(j)
Connect the hydraulic line to the oil fill valve and open the oil fill valve.
(k)
Fill the shock strut until the hydraulic fluid flows through the air charging valve port without air bubbles.
(l)
Lubricate a new packing (o-ring) for the air charging valve with the shock strut fluid.
(m)
Install the new packing (o-ring) on the air charging valve.
(n)
Install the air charging valve.
(o)
Tighten the air charging valve to 120-156 pound-inches.
(p)
Safety the air charging valve with lockwire.
(q)
Close the oil fill valve.
(r)
Remove the hydraulic charging line from the oil valve.

Install the pressure cap on the oil fill valve.

Connect the hose from the service manifold assembly to the air charging valve.
(9)
Pressurize all the shock struts with nitrogen or dry air:
