Close the air valve on the shock strut.
(t)
Remove the hose of the service manifold assembly from the air valve.
(u)
Tighten the swivel nut to 60-84 pound-inches.
(v)
Install the pressure caps on the air valves of each gear.

(7) After 5-10 landings, measure dimension X and read the pressure on the pressure gages of the wing landing gears. If the pressure and dimension X are out of range, add or release gas from the struts.

C. Consumable Materials
(1) D00509 Fluid - Hydraulic, Petroleum Base, MIL-H-6083 (alternate)
NOTE: Unless you use only a small amount of fluid, approximately
____ 1.0 percent of the total, you must mix MIL-H-6083 in the correct proportion with Lubrizol 1395 before you fill the shock strut. You can use this fluid with MIL-H-6083 and use it as an alternative for MIL-H-5606. This hydraulic fluid is optional. The hydraulic fluid BMS 3-32 is recommended for landing gear shock struts.

Both MIL-H-5606 and MIL-H-6083 hydraulic fluids are optional.
The hydraulic fluid BMS 3-32 is recommended for landing gear
shock struts.

Type I - Royco SSF, Shell SSF and Castrolaero 35 (These fluids contain the mixture of MIL-H-6083 and Lubrizol 1395)
Type II - Royco LGF, Shell LGF and Castrolaero 40 (These fluids are the recommended fluid for servicing and contain the mixture of MIL-H-5606 and Lubrizol 1395)
