(1)
Open the nose radome (AMM 53-52-01/201).

(2)
Fill the nose radome hinge snubber (Fig. 301).
(a) Remove the fill plug and the gasket from the nose radome hinge snubber.

WARNING: DO NOT PERMIT THE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TO BE MORE THAN 100

PSIG WHEN YOU FILL THE NOSE RADOME SNUBBER.
CAUTION: THE NOSE RADOME SNUBBER MUST BE FILLED WITH MIL-H-5606

HYDRAULIC FLUID ONLY.
(b)
Connect the 95 (|5) psi hydraulic pressure source to the nose radome snubber.
(c)
Fill the nose radome snubber until the piston shaft is fully extended.

(3) Remove air from the nose radome snubber.
(a)
With hydraulic pressure applied, loosen the two bleed plugs.
(b)
Move the nose radome as far as possible until all air is removed from the nose radome snubber.
(c)
Close the two bleed plugs.
(d)
Measure the extension of the piston shaft from the snubber housing.
(e)
Reduce the hydraulic pressure to zero.
(f)
Loosen one bleed plug. Retract piston .07 inch from fully extended position.
NOTE: This permits the hydraulic fluid to become larger

because of temperature changes.
(g)
Tighten the bleed plug.
(h)
Install the fill plug and gasket in the nose radome snubber.
(i)
Do the above steps again for the second nose radome snubber.
(j)
Close and open the nose radome to make sure that the nose radome snubbers are operate correctly.

(4) Close the nose radome (Ref 53-52-01/201).
