 (4)  S 653-036Do the applicable task: (a) Manually Close the Inoperative Refuel Valve (AMM 28-21-00/201). (b) Put the VTO switch to the Usual Position (AMM 28-21-00/201).
 (5)  S 653-037Do this task:  Manual Pressure Refueling (AMM 12-11-03/301).
 NOTE:____ Refuel the remaining fuel tanks per fuel sheet requirements. Make sure the refuel valve(s) for the tank with a blank gage remain closed.
 (6)  S 653-038Make a logbook entry for the blank fuel quantity indicator.
 (7)  S 653-039Schedule a maintenance task to troubleshoot and repair the refuel system (FIM 28-21-00/101).

 4. Refuel Operation - OVERFILL Light Comes On, Refuel Operation Stops
__________________________________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
Do this procedure if the overfill protection system stops the refueling operation (the red OVERFILL protection light comes on).

 (2)  
When fuel enters the surge tanks, the overfill protection system commands the fuel quantity processor unit (FQPU) to close all of the refuel valves.

 (3)  
The refuel valves will remain closed until fuel is removed from the surge tank and the OVERFILL RESET switch is pushed.

 (4)  
Make sure the refuel valve(s) for the tank with an overfill remain closed when you begin the refuel operation again.

 (5)  
This task is a manual pressure refuel operation. The FQPU does not control the fuel load distribution during a manual pressure refuel operation. You must monitor the fuel distribution to prevent an out of limits center of gravity (CG) or lateral imbalance condition.

 (6)  
Troubleshooting for this condition is given in this FIM procedure:

 (a)  Overfill or Overboard Fuel Spill During a Refuel Operation (FIM 28-21-00/101).

 E. Stop the Refuel Operation After an Overfill Indication
 S 653-042
 (1)  
When the red OVERFILL light comes on, the FQPU will command all of the refuel valves to the closed position.

Release the deadman switch to stop the fuel flow.

Put the ALL VALVES switch to the CLOSED position (if opened).

Put the individual refuel valve switches to the CLOSED position (if opened).

Find out which fuel tank is overfilled.

Do this task: Remove Fuel From the Surge Tank (AMM 28-21-00/201).

 F. Begin the Refuel Operation Again

Push the red OVERFILL RESET switch on the P42 panel.

 (2)
