(1) Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE WING LEADING
_______ EDGE BEFORE YOU EXTEND THE FLAPS. FLAPS EXTEND AND RETRACT QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: DO NOT ELECTRICALLY EXTEND OR RETRACT THE FLAPS MORE THAN ONE
_______ TIME IN 5 MINUTES. DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR CAN OCCUR IF THE MOTOR BECOMES TOO HOT.
(2) Extend the LE flaps through the alternate system:
(a) Push the ALTN FLAPS ARM switch to set the flap system in the alternate operation.

(b) Move the ALTN FLAPS EXT/RET switch to the EXT position. S 493-004
WARNING:_______ YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
THE LE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS. THE LE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU
DO NOT INSTALL THE SAFETY LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task: "Extended Leading Edge Flap Deactivation and Safety Lock Installation" (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Do the servicing if the oil level is not visible on the view glass.
NOTE: If you fill LEFDU (not installed on the airplane) with oil on
____ the ground, make sure LEFDU is not tipped on its side (or upside down). Oil can accumulate in the gearbox breather and on the first operation after installation, oil will spray out on the unit and LEFDU will look like having an oil leak. If oil level is above the view glass do the steps to remove the excess of oil.
(a)
Remove the oil filler plug.
(b)
Attach a hose from the pressure fill source to the fill port.
(c)
Fill oil into the unit until the view glass is approximately 2/3 full (normal capacity is approximately 1 1/2 pints).
(d)
Remove the hose and let the unwanted oil drain through the fill port.
(e)
Install the fill plug and the lockwire.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE NOT TO FILL MORE OIL IN THE POWER DRIVE UNIT
_______ THAN THE NECESSARY LEVEL. FAILURE TO DO THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE POWER DRIVE UNIT.
(f) Make sure the oil level is visible on the view glass and not above the view glass because excess of oil.
