 D.  Procedure
 S 013-004
 (1)  
Open the right and left doors in the trailing edge fairing (Ref 54-62-00/201).

 S 213-005

 (2)  
Examine the orange shaft in the oil gage on the filler cap of the turbine gearbox:

 (a)  
If the orange shaft touches the filler cap, it is not necessary to add oil because the turbine drive is full.

 (b)  
If the orange shaft does not touch the filler cap, the turbine drive is not full, and you must add oil to the turbine drive.

 (3)  Do these steps to add oil to the turbine drive:
 (a)  Remove the oil filler cap.
 WARNING:_______DO NOT LET THE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN. YOU CAN ABSORB POISONOUS MATERIALS FROM THE OIL THROUGH YOUR SKIN.
 CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE OIL FROM ALL EQUIPMENT THAT IT FALLS
_______ ON. THE OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO PAINT AND SOME RUBBER PARTS.
 CAUTION:_______DO NOT MIX OILS FROM DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS. SOME OILS WILL NOT MIX SATISFACTORILY.
 (b)  
Add oil until the oil flows from the filler opening into the scupper.

 (c)  
Install the oil filler cap.

 (4)  
Check Turbine Drive general area for oil leaks. If you find leakage, repair the cause of the leak(s).

 (5)  
Examine the doors on the trailing edge fairing.

 (a)  
Examine the latches on the doors in the trailing edge fairing for cracks and wear.

 (b)  
Make sure that all the latches are there.

 (c)  
Repair and adjust the latches if it is necessary
 (Ref 54-62-02/501).

 

 

 S 413-008
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU LATCH THE DOORS ON THE TRAILING EDGE FAIRING
_______ CORRECTLY. IF THE DOORS OPEN DURING A FLIGHT, THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOORS.
 (6)  Close the doors in the trailing edge fairing (Ref 54-62-00/201).

 LEADING EDGE FLAPS POWER DRIVE UNIT - SERVICING (OIL REPLENISHING)

 1.  General
_______
 A.  The lower side of the power drive unit (PDU) will open when the leading edge (LE) flaps extend. This will give access to the oil drain and filler plug.
 B.  LE Flaps PDU Servicing (Oil Replenishing) contains the maintenance of the necessary oil level in the PDU.
