(4) When you do the servicing on the system No. 4 reservoir, do a check
of the brake accumulator to make sure it has the correct precharge
pressure (AMM 12-15-09/301).
S 863-115
(5) Pressurize the hydraulic reservoir (AMM 29-11-00/201).
NOTE:____ You can remove the pressure from the hydraulic reservoir
for easier servicing but the quantity can change when the
reservoir does not have pressure.

WARNING: DO NOT GET THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR MOUTH OR EYES, OR ON
_______ YOUR SKIN. YOU CAN ABSORB POISONOUS MATERIALS FROM THE FLUID THROUGH YOUR SKIN. IF YOU GET THE FLUID IN YOUR EYES OR YOUR MOUTH, INTERNAL INJURY CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, USE CLEAN
_______ EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU DO THE SERVICING OF THE HYDRAULIC RESERVOIRS. DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM CAN OCCUR.
(6) Put the end of the filler hose in the container of hydraulic fluid.
NOTE: All currently qualified BMS 3-11, Type IV hydraulic
____ fluids are interchangeable and intermixable in any proportion.
S 863-046
(7) Put the pump handle in the hand pump socket.
S 613-140
WARNING: CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN NOT TO OVERFILL THE HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR.
_______ OVERFILL CAN CAUSE HYDRAULIC FLUID TO ENTER THE PNEUMATIC DUCTING AND THE AIR CONDITIONING PACKS RESULTING IN SMOKE AND NOXIOUS FUMES ENTERING THE FLIGHT DECK AND PASSENGER CABIN. REPEATING HYDRAULIC CONTAMINATION OF THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM CAN ALSO RESULT IN DAMAGE TO TITANIUM DUCTS.
(8) Do the steps that follow for each reservoir that you must fill:
(a) Turn the selector valve handle to the number of the hydraulic system which you will fill.

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE HAND PUMP MORE THAN 100 CYCLES EACH
_______ MINUTE. DAMAGE TO THE HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR CAN OCCUR.
(b) Operate the hand pump.
NOTE: The hand pump can become dry and not operate
____ correctly when you do not use it for a long time.
1) If the pump does not move fluid, put the hose to the pump inlet and put hydraulic fluid into the hose.
NOTE:____This will fill the pump with fluid. This will make the pump operate correctly and prevent pump removals that are not necessary.
(c) Fill the reservoir to the full level as follows:
1) While you fill the reservoir, monitor the hydraulic quantity on one of the items which follow: a) The hydraulic quantity indicator in the wheel well. b) The hydraulic page of the EICAS which shows the
hydraulic quantity. 2) Stop when the reservoir fill indicator is in the green band or when the EICAS display shows .80 to 1.10.
3) Make sure the OF, RF, or LO indication does not show on the EICAS maintenance page adjacent to the HYD QTY (1, 2, 3, 4).
