 CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE THE OUTLET HOSE FROM OVERFLOW DRAIN COUPLING
_______ UNTIL THE FLOW OF OIL STOPS. TOO MUCH OIL IN THE IDG CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
 (7)  
When the flow of oil stops, remove the outlet hose from the overflow drain coupling.

Install the cover on the overflow drain coupling on the IDG.

 3. Examine the IDG Oil Level

 A. Procedure
 S 863-026
 (1)  
Stop for five minutes, after engine shut down, while the oil level becomes stable.

 (2)
Use a rag and rub the view port of the oil level indicator clean.

 (3)  
Look into the view port of the oil level indicator.

 (4)  
Align the four white marks, found in the view port, in a straight line.


 NOTE: A flashlight can be necessary to see the four white marks.
____ Do not point the light directly into the view port. Reflections can cause incorrect indications.

 (5)  If you see an OK and no bright silver mark in the view port, the IDG is filled. If the IDG does not have an 'OK' indicator, it will appear black when the level is satisfactory.
 (a)  
If you see a bright silver mark in the view port, the IDG is not filled.

 (b)  
Do the oil fill procedures again.


 S 863-041
 (6)  For a new IDG, do these steps:
 (a)  Dry motor the engine.

 AIR-DRIVEN PUMP TURBINE DRIVE - SERVICING (OIL REPLENISHING)

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has one task. This task fills the air-driven pump (ADP) turbine drive (referred to as the turbine drive). This task is the same for the turbine drive of each ADP.
 B.  You must open the doors in the trailing edge fairing to get access to the turbine drive.
