Make sure the onboard fuel load is in a valid fuel distribution configuration (equivalent to after a flight operation).

Do these steps to input the total preselect fuel quantity, on the P42 panel (View B):
(a)
Set the SELECT QTY thumbwheels to the total fuel quantity necessary.
(b)
Move the SET QTY switch to the TOTAL position and release.
(c)
Make sure the TOTAL FUEL PRESELECT indicator value is the same as the SELECT QTY thumbwheel value.
(d)
If the TOTAL FUEL PRESELECT indicator is blank, move the SET QTY switch to the TOTAL position again.
NOTE: A fuel quantity value will be set into the indicator.

VALVE POSITION CONTROL switches - CLOSED

ALL VALVES switch - CLOSED

I. Begin the Refuel Operation

Put the ALL VALVES switch to the OPEN position.

Activate the fuel shutoff control switch (deadman switch) to start the fuel flow.
(3)
Make sure the refuel pressure is between 35 and 55 psi.
(4)
Make sure the refuel valve indication lights come on (valves open).

The refuel valve lights will go out and then come on again.

The refuel operation will continue.

(8) Monitor the fuel quantity indicators and refuel valve indication lights.
J. Stop the Refuel Operation

(1) Release the deadman switch to stop the fuel flow when all of the refuel valve position lights are off.
NOTE: The FQPU will automatically close the tank refuel valve(s)
