(2) Add air to the tire as specified in Procedure 1 or Procedure 2 that follow:
NOTE: You can use air when nitrogen is not available but you

must obey these limits:
-The air that you add cannot increase the volume of oxygen in the tire to more than 5 percent.
-To make sure that the oxygen does not become more than 5 percent, use one of the procedures that follow:
(a)
Procedure 1: Make a record of the quantity of air that you add each time to the tire. The sum of all the air refill pressures must not be more than 19 psi.
EXAMPLE: You can add 8 psi of air, then add 11 psi of air to the tire to total 19 psi of air refill pressure. When it is necessary to add gas to the tire again, you must deflate the tire, then inflate the tire with nitrogen.
(b)
Procedure 2: Make a record of the quantity of air that you add each time to the tire. The sum of the air that you add must not be more than the maximum shown in the Air Refill Pressure chart.
EXAMPLE: This example is for a tire that is initially inflated
_______ to 165 psi with nitrogen. As shown in the Air Refill Pressure chart, the sum of all air refill pressures that you can add to the tire is 30 psi. For example, you can add one 6 psi, one 14 psi, and two 5 psi of air to total 30 psi of air refill pressure. When it is necessary to add gas to the tire again, you must deflate the tire and inflate it with nitrogen.

THE INFLATION PRESSURES THAT ARE SHOWN ARE FOR COLD, LOADED (THE WEIGHT OF THE AIRPLANE IS ON THE TIRES) TIRES. REDUCE THE PRESSURE 4% FOR UNLOADED TIRES.
