 (a)
Measure the pressures and extensions of the shock struts for each wing landing gear.

 (b)
Compare the pressures and the extensions to the band on the servicing chart.

NOTE: If the point is on the servicing band, then the fluid
____ level is correct. If the point is on the right of the band, then the fluid level is too high. If the point is on the left of the band, then the fluid level is too low.
 S 203-050
 (5)  If the fluid level is not correct and you need to dispatch the airplane, perform a fast check (Ref "Shock Strut Servicing Fast Check" task).
 (a)  If the strut passes the fast check, permit the airplane to dispatch.
NOTE: Perform the strut servicing ("Wing Landing Gear
____ Shock Strut Servicing" task) as soon as the equipment is available.

 (b)  If the struts do not pass the fast check, add air to or release air from the struts to get a point on the servicing band to permit dispatch for one flight to a facility where the full servicing can occur.
NOTE: It is not necessary to dispatch the airplane for
____ servicing if the equipments are available at the site.
 S 613-049
 (6)  Do a full servicing (Ref. "Wing Landing Gear Shock Strut Servicing" task) or do the steps that follow to add hydraulic fluid to the full level.
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PRESSURE FIRST FROM THE WING LANDING GEAR OR
_______ REMOVE IT EQUALLY FROM ALL OF THE MAIN LANDING GEARS. THE AIRPLANE CAN FALL TO THE SIDE IF YOU REMOVE THE PRESSURE INCORRECTLY.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU DEFLATE THE STRUT MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA BELOW
_______ THE WINGS IS CLEAR. WHEN YOU DEFLATE THE STRUT THE WING CAN LOWER MANY FEET, WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
 (a)
Remove the caps from the air valves.

 (b)
Loosen the outer nut a maximum of two turns on each air valve.

NOTE:____Permit the shock struts to compress fully. See Dimension "X" in Figure 301.

 (c)
Release the air fully from the shock strut through the air valve.

 (d)
Let the gas/fluid mixture evaporate for one hour.

 (e)
Connect one end of a hose to the air valve.

 (f)
Put the other end of the hose in a drain bucket.

 (g)
Remove the pressure cap from the oil fill valve.

 (h)
Attach the hydraulic fluid line to the oil fill valve.

 (i)
Make sure that the shutoff valve on the lower outer cylinder is open.

NOTE: Use a 3/16 inch hex wrench to open the shutoff valve if
____
 it is necessary.

 (j)  Fill the strut with the specified hydraulic fluid on the nameplate.
NOTE: If only small quantities of fluid are necessary, you
____ can use fluid without lubricant to fill the shock strut. If large quantities are necessary, add lubricant to the shock strut. As an alternative, you can use a fluid which has an added lubricant.
 (k)
Continue to fill the shock strut until the hydraulic fluid which flows into the bucket is free of bubbles.

 (l)
Remove the oil charging line.

 (m)
Put the cap on the oil fill valve.

 (n)
Remove the hydraulic hose from the air valve.

 (o)
Connect the air hose from the service manifold assembly to the air valve.

 (p)
Pressurize all the shock struts with nitrogen or dry air to approximately 14.00 inches.

 (q)
Measure dimension X vertically from the bottom of the outer cylinder to the top of the axle housing.

 (r)
Add or release air until the dimension X and the pessure are in the band on the servicing chart.
