WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS IN ALL LANDING
_______ GEAR. AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Nose Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).

(3) Install the axle jack directly below the jack pad on the nose gear axle.

(4) Install the chocks on the main gear wheels.

CAUTION: THE TILLER AND RUDDER PEDALS ARE DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO NOSE
_______ GEAR STEERING. IF THE TILLER OR RUDDER PEDALS MOVE, IT IS POSSIBLE TO MOVE THE NOSE GEAR OFF THE JACK. TO PREVENT THIS, MAKE SURE THE LOCKOUT PIN IS INSTALLED OR THE TORSION LINKS ARE DISCONNECTED.

Install the steering lockout pin.

Install lock assembly for the nose gear steering system.

Release the pressure from the shock strut:
(a)
ON AIRPLANES WITHOUT A PRESSURE GAGE ON THE SHOCK STRUT; Remove the cap from the air charging valve at the top of the shock strut (View A, Fig. 301).
(b)
ON AIRPLANES WITH A PRESSURE GAGE ON THE SHOCK STRUT; Remove the cap from the air charging valve at the pressure gage (View E, Fig. 301).
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE THE VALVE ASSEMBLY UNTIL YOU FULLY RELEASE
_______ THE PRESSURE IN THE SHOCK STRUT. INTERNAL PRESSURE CAN BLOW THE VALVE FROM THE STRUT. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
CAUTION:_______LET THE AIR OUT OF THE SHOCK STRUT SLOWLY. IF YOU LET THE AIR OUT OF THE SHOCK STRUT QUICKLY, THE FLUID WILL COME THROUGH THE AIR VALVE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE TIRES AND OTHER SURFACES, IT CAN CAUSE DETERIORATION.
(c) Loosen the outer nut a maximum of two turns.
NOTE: Bubbles will come out of the air charging valve
____ immediately after you loosen the nut.

CAUTION:_______ DO NOT PERMIT MORE WEIGHT ON THE JACK OR JACK PAD THAN THE
APPROVED LIMITS. WHEN THERE ARE SEVERE GUSTY WINDS, IT IS
RECOMMENDED YOU LOWER THE AIRPLANE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WHEN
THERE ARE GUSTY CROSSWINDS WHILE THE NOSE GEAR IS ON THE AXLE
JACK, THE AXLE CAN TURN AROUND THE JACK CONE IF THE AIRPLANE
WEATHERVANES. YOU CAN APPLY THE PARKING BRAKES TO DECREASE THE
AIRPLANE MOVEMENT. AN OPTIONAL METHOD TO PREVENT THE AXLE FROM
TURNING IS TO STATION A PERSON IN THE CONTROL CABIN, TO MAKE
SURE THE STEERING CONTROLS DO NOT MOVE, AND TEMPORARILY REMOVE
THE STEERING LOCKOUT PIN. IF REMOVED, INSERT THE LOCKOUT PIN
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER MAINTENANCE IS DONE AND BEFORE YOU
LOWER THE JACK.
(8) Lift the nose landing gear with the axle jack until the dimension X is equal to 2.00 inches (See Fig. 302).
NOTE: Use the jack system manufacturer's instructions on the jack
____ placard.
