Insert the guide tool into the combustor through the RH igniter plug mounting boss.

Insert the flexible borescope through the guide tool.
(d)
Inspect the combustor exhaust area as far as possible.
(e)
Insert the guide tool into the combustor through the LH igniter plug mounting boss, repeat steps (3) and (4).
(f)
Inspect the combuster liner as far as possible using the rigid borescope through the LH and RH igniter plug mount bosses. Further detailed inspections provide on removed Combustion Chamber Assembly ref. APIC EM 49-21-10.
(g)
If there are cracks, holes, erosion, distortion or burns replace the APU. (Ref. TASK 49-11-11-000-003)

Inspect the 1st Stage Turbine (leading edge).
(a)
Use a flexible/fibrescope borescope 5mm dia. with guide tool and borescope battery.
(b)
Insert the TOOL FOR ENDOSCOPIC INSPECTION into the combustor through the LH igniter plug mounting boss.
(c)
Insert the flexible borescope through the TOOL FOR ENDOSCOPIC INSPECTION.
(d)
Inspect the Nozzle Guide Vanes:
-no holes across the vanes.
-erosion and cracks permitted.
-broken blades leading edge are not permitted.
-Cracks on the Trailing Edge as per limit given are permitted.
(e)
Inspect the 1st stage turbine blades while slowly rotating the rotor using a suitable ratchet handle, extension and socket on the cooling fan center shaft retaining nut.
(f)
If there are bent, cracked or broken blades, replace the APU. (Ref. TASK 49-11-11-000-003) Impact, erosion and burning is permitted in the hatched areas. No damage is permitted in the platform/airfoil link radius.

Inspect the 2nd Stage Turbine Blade (trailing edge).
(a)
Use the rigid boroscope-8mm dia.
(b)
Insert the rigid borescope through the thermocouple mount boss.
(c)
Inspect the 2nd stage turbine blades while slowly rotating the rotor using a suitable ratchet handle, extension and socket on the cooling fan center shaft retaining nut.
(d)
If there are eroded, bent, cracked or broken blades, replace the APU. (Ref. TASK 49-11-11-000-003)

Install the LH thermocouple (Ref. TASK 49-72-15-400-002).
