D. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2)
Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3)
Make sure that the light SW 11LJ is set to the ON position.

A. Removal of the bottom Load-Compressor Containment Shield (if installed)
(1)
Disconnect the electrical connectors of the LCIT sensor.
(2)
Remove the bolt (20) and the clamp (21) from the bottom load-compressor containment shield (22). Keep the clamp (21) on the LCIT wiring.
(3)
Remove the bolts (23) and (26).
(4)
Loosen the bolt (25) of the L-bracket (24).
(5)
Remove the bolts (18) and (19).

B. Intake Guide Vane (IGV) Position Check.
(1) Look at the IGV's through the inlet plenum, if the IGV's are flat (closed), do the removal procedure steps in para. C. If the IGV's are not flat (open), do the removal procedure steps in para. D.
Subtask 49-23-51-020-051-A
C. Removal of the Inlet Guide Vane-Actuator (IGVA) (8014KM) (IGV's closed).
(1)
Disconnect the electrical connection (12).
(2)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(3)
Put the container 2.0 L in position below the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).
(4)
Remove the screws (6) which attach the plate (5) to the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).
(5)
Remove the plate (5) which attaches the fuel pipes to the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).
(6)
Disconnect the fuel pipes (7) and (9) from the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).
(7)
Disconnect the fuel drain pipe (4) from the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).
(8)
Remove and discard the O-rings (8) and (10) from the fuel pipes (7) and (9).
(9)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(10)
Hold the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11) and remove the bolts
(3) and the washers (2).
(11)
Carefully pull out the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11) and move to the side to disengage the IGV clevis (1).
(12)
If there is not enough clearance, remove the lower half of the compressor inlet duct as follows:
(a)
Apply alignment marks to both inlet plenum halves in relation to the APU power section casing.
(b)
Disconnect electrical connector P22 from the inlet pressure sensor, release the wiring harness attachment clips.
(c)
Release the four clips that attach the lower to the upper half of the inlet duct.
(d)
Remove the inlet plenum lower duct half.
(13)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(14)
Replacement inlet guide vane actuators are normally supplied from NWA stores with the clevis installed. Remove the clevis from the unserviceable actuator only if required for installation on the replacement actuator.
(15)
Keep the IGV clevis (1) to install on the new inlet guide
vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).
Subtask 49-23-51-020-055
D. Removal of the IGV Actuator (8014KM) (IGV's open).
(1)
Start the APU (4005KM) (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-003), operate in the no load condition for 30 seconds.
