 Shutdown the APU (4005KM) (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-004).

 Look at the IGV's through the inlet plenum, if the IGV's are flat (closed), do the removal procedure steps in para. B. If the IGV's are not flat (open), do the following removal procedure steps (4) to (22).

 Disconnect the electrical connection (12).

 (5)
 Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.

 (6)
 Put the container 2.0 L in position below the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).

 (7)
 Remove the screws (6) which attach the plate (5) to the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).

 Remove the plate (5) which attaches the fuel pipes to the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).

 (9)
 Disconnect the fuel pipes (7) and (9) from the inlet guide
 vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).

 

 

 (10)
 Disconnect the fuel drain pipe (4) from the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).

 (11)
 Remove and discard the O-rings (8) and (10) from the fuel pipes (7) and (9).

 Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.

 (13)
 Remove the two lower bolts (3).

 (14)
 Loosen the upper bolt (3).

 (15)
 Attach a spring balance to the IGVA (8014KM).

 (16)
 Pull on the spring balance/IGVA and note the force required to move the IGV's. The force necessary to move the IGV's must not be more than 30 lb (13.6077 kg). If more is necessary then reject the APU.

 (17)
 Remove the upper bolt (3).

 (18)
 Carefully pull out the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11) and move to the side to disengage the IGV clevis (1) from the IGV operating linkage.

 (19)
 If there is not enough clearance, remove the lower half of the compressor inlet duct as follows:

 (a)
 Apply alignment marks to both inlet plenum halves in relation to the APU power section casing.

 (b)
 Disconnect electrical connector P22 from the inlet pressure sensor, release the wiring harness attachment clips.

 (c)
 Release the four clips that attach the lower to the upper half of the inlet duct.

 (d)
 Remove the inlet plenum lower duct half.

 (e)
 Remove the upper bolt (3) and remove the IGVA (8014KM).

 

 (20)
 Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.

 (21)
 Use the flats of a spanner to hold the inlet-guide vane-actuator rod


 and remove the IGV clevis (1).

 (22)
 Keep the IGV clevis (1) to install on the new inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11).
