(3) Disconnection of electrical supply
WARNING : DISCONNECT THE LOW TENSION ELECTRICAL SUPPLY 5 MINUTES
_______ BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE IGNITION SYSTEM. ALSO, GROUND THE IGNITER LEAD WITH AN INSULATED DEVICE AS YOU DISCONNECT IT FROM THE IGNITER PLUG. HIGH CURRENT AND VOLTAGE, WHICH ARE USED IN THE IGNITION SYSTEM, CAN KILL YOU.
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector P10 from the ignition unit (Ref. TASK 49-41-38-000-002).

Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these)
circuit breaker(s):
1KD, 2KD.
(5)
Wet Motor Cycle of the APU
CAUTION : DO NOT TRY TO START THE APU A FOURTH TIME UNTIL THE STARTER
_______ MOTOR IS COOL (60 MINUTES MINIMUM). WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU TRY TO START THE APU THREE TIMES, WITH AN INTERVAL OF ONE MINUTE BETWEEN EACH TIME THAT YOU TRY.
(a) On overhead panel 25VU:
-
push the APU MASTER SW p/bsw to the ON position.
-
push the APU START p/bsw for approx. 15 seconds to cycle engine and allow the preservation oil to flow overboard from the primary fuel manifold.
-let the fuel flow into a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL).
NOTE : To cancel motoring cycle, push the APU MASTER SW p/bsw to
____
the OFF position.

Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):
1KD, 2KD.
(7)
Put a WARNING NOTICE in position into the cockpit to indicate that
the APU is not serviceable.
(8)
Disconnect temporary line from FCU.
(9)
Connect the fuel pump inlet tube to the FCU.
(10)
Connect the fuel supply tube to the flow divider.
(11)
Connect the electrical connector P10 to the ignition unit (Ref. TASK 49-41-38-400-002).
(12)
Cleaning of the APU and the APU compartment
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(a) Clean the APU and the APU compartment from unwanted fuel and oil with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002).

Attach a tag indicating that the fuel system has been preserved.
(14)
Desiccant installation procedure
(a)
Put 16 desiccant bags (1 bag = 8 units) (Material No. MIL-D-3464 (AIR 8060)) in a polyethelene bag leaving one end open to the air.
(b)
Place the bag into the cone created by the three struts of the APU mount located on the left forward area of the compartment.
(c)
Secure the bag to one of the struts with a TIE WRAP.

Leave the compartment cooling duct open.

Attach protective covers to air inlets and outlets. Subtask 49-20-00-630-050
B.
De-preservation of the APU
(1)
Remove all protective covers from the air inlets and outlets.
(2)
Open compartment doors 315AL and 316AR and remove the desiccant bags from the forward APU mount.
(3)
Do the oil change procedure (Ref. TASK 49-90-00-600-005) without APU starting.
(4)
Replace the oil filter elements (Ref. TASK 49-91-41-920-001).
(5)
Disconnect the fuel supply tube at the flow divider. Leave the tube open to atmosphere. Let the fuel preservation oil flow into a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL).
(6)
Disconnect the electrical connector P10 from the ignition unit (Ref. TASK 49-41-38-000-002).
(7)
Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1KD, 2KD.
