A. Installation of the Inlet Guide Vane-Actuator (8014KM)
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Remove the blanking cap from the APU inlet guide vane-actuator mating face.
(5)
Use the flats of a spanner to hold the inlet-guide vane-actuator rod and install the IGV clevis (1).
NOTE : Make sure that the inlet-guide vane-actuator rod is fully
____ engaged to the bottom of the IGV clevis (1). If not, the position of the IGVs will be incorrect.
(6)
Put the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11) with the installed IGV clevis (1) into the APU housing (13), and move the assembly (11) to the side to engage the IGV clevis (1) with the IGV linkage.
(7)
Pull out the inlet guide vane-actuator (8014KM) (11) to make sure that the IGV linkage is engaged.
(8)
Install the washers (2) and the bolts (3). NOTE : If a load compressor containment shield was removed previously
____ do not install the upper bolt of the IGV actuator (Refer to step B.).
(9)
TORQUE the bolts (3) to 1.13 m.daN (99.99 lbf.in). NOTE : Examine the inlet guide vanes to make sure that they are fully
____ closed. If not fully closed, you must carry out the rigging procedure described in para.(10) thru (17) before you complete the remainder of the installation procedure.
(10)
Remove the IGV actuator (8014KM) (Ref. TASK 49-23-51-000-002).
(11)
Remove the load compressor inlet temperature sensor (8011KM) (Ref. TASK 49-23-15-000-001).
(12)
Install the IGV POSITIONER (T8339043) in the inlet temperature sensor opening. The IGV positioner will engage with the gear teeth if the IGV's are in the fully closed position.
(13)
If the IGV's are not fully closed (positioner tool does not engage), use the FIXTURE - ADJUSTMENT, IGV (834150-2) (17) and loosen the linkage nut (14) then adjust the IGV linkage screw (15) until the IGV positioner tool engages showing that the IGV's are fully closed.
(14)
Tighten the IGV linkage nut (14).
(15)
Remove the IGV positioner tool (16).
