If the relative humidity is less than 40 percent no further maintenance action is required until the next check.

If the relative humidity is more than 40 percent do a check of the condition of the APU:

if corrosion is found return the APU to a maintenance facility.

if no corrosion is found put the APU back in storage. Use procedures in para. 4. B. steps (1) to (12).

C. De-preservation of the APU
(1)
Make sure that the APU generator is correctly attached (Ref. TASK 24-23-51-400-001).
(2)
Make sure that the oil level is correct (Ref. TASK 49-90-00-600-007).
(3)
Do a check of the oil filter elements for contamination, replace if necessary (Ref. TASK 49-91-41-200-002).
(4)
Do a check of the fuel filter element, replace if necessary (Ref. TASK 49-32-41-920-001).
(5)
Purge the APU fuel line (Ref. TASK 28-22-00-710-001).
(6)
Do the operational test of the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-710-010). Run the APU for at least five minutes.

Do check of the APU and the APU connections for fuel, oil and air leaks during operation.
(8)
Do the check of the oil level again (Ref. TASK 49-90-00-600-007).
(9)
Return the APU to normal operation.

1. Reason for the Job

The preservation procedure of the APU is carried out to prevent internal and
external corrosion and deterioration when the APU is not in service.
The preservation procedure will give the maximum protection and must be
carried out in clean and dry conditions.
Storage times and procedures are given in Table 301.
