A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
(3)
Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make on inspection for damage of the inner and outer surface of the diffuser (20) and elbow assembly (26). Examine for damage and pollution the guide vanes in the elbow assembly (26). Replace or clean them as necessary.
(4)
Make an inspection of the seal (1) for damage.
If necessary, replace the seal as follows:
(a)
Remove the nuts (4), the washers (3) and the screws (2).
(b)
Remove the strips (5) and the seal (1) from the elbow assembly (26).
(c)
Protective Treatment
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER
_______ SPECIAL MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
1 Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the screws
_ (2), the washers (3) and the nuts (4).
(d)
Align the seal (1) and the strips (5) on the elbow assembly (26).
(e)
Install the screws (2), the washers (3) and the nuts (4).
(5)
Make sure that the basic adjustment F and J of the eye-bolts (8 and 14) is 23.1 mm (0.9094 in.).
