 De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits

 C. Get Access
 (1)
 Put the access platform in position below the APU compartment.

 (2)
 Open the access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).

 (3)
 Set the LIGHT SW 11LJ to the ON position.


 4. Procedure

 A. Removal of the Air Intake Flap
 (1)
 Get access from behind of the closed air intake flap:

 -
Remove and discard the cotter pin (3).

 -
Remove the castle nut (4), the washer (5), the bolt (6) and disconnect the actuator (1) from the air intake flap (8).

 

 (2)
 Put the APU MASTER SW p/bsw to the 'ON' position to retract the air-intake flap-actuator. If no electrical power is available, do the subsequent steps.

 (3)
 Open the maintenance door 314AR.


 (a) Release the 22 stud fasteners and remove the catwalk panel from the service panel.

 (b) With a ratchet spanner, turn the manual override device of the air intake flap-actator (47 and one quarter turns) and fully open the air intake flap.
 (4)
 Hold the air intake flap (8) and remove the screws (7) from the hinge assembly.

 (5)
 Remove the air intake flap (8) from the air inlet duct (2).
