De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002)

Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):
1KD, 2KD.

Put a warning notice in position in the cockpit to indicate that the APU is not serviceable.
(13)
Remove preservation oil supply and connect the LP inlet fuel-line to the FCU (Ref. TASK 49-32-11-400-001).
(14)
Connect the primary-fuel pipe to the flow divider and drain-valve assy (Ref. TASK 49-31-41-400-001).
(15)
Remove blanking caps and connect electrical connector P10 to the ignition unit (Ref. TASK 49-41-38-400-001).

Clean the engine and the APU compartment from unwanted fuel and oil with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002).

Install two pounds of desiccant (silica gel) in both the exhaust and the compressor inlet sections of the engine.

B.
APU Storage
(1)
Do the APU Preservation as given in Para 4. A. step (1) to (15).
(2)
Remove the APU (Ref. TASK 49-11-11-000-001).
(3)
Remove the APU Generator (Ref. TASK 24-23-51-000-001).
(4)
Install the COVER - ASSEMBLY, APU GEN.
(5)
Installation of sealing caps
CAUTION : PUT PLASTIC CAPS OR PLUGS ON ALL FUEL AND/OR LUBRICATION
_______ SYSTEM COMPONENTS AND LINES. IF YOU USE TAPE, CLOTH, OR METAL CAPS ON THEM, YOU CAN DAMAGE THE APU.
(a) Put caps, covers or seals on all external pressure ports, fittings and all other openings of the engine.

(a) Remove all oil and fuel from the external surface of the engine with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002)

Attach a warning tag (S8145-26A) to the engine to indicate that the engine is not serviceable.
(8)
Put one pound of desiccant (silica gel) on the front of the accessory gearbox section.
(9)
Install a humidity indicator on the engine.
Make sure that you can see the indicator with the engine in stored
position.
(10)
Put the engine in a water-vapor proof bag.
(11)
Put the engine in a storage container.
(12)
Do a check of the humidity indicator every 30 days.
NOTE : Maximum storage time is one year then the preservation
____
procedures must be done again
(a)
If the relative humidity is less than 40 percent no further maintenance action is required until next check.
(b)
If the relative humidity is more than 40 percent do a check of the condition of the engine:
-
if corrosion is found return engine to maintenance facility.
-
if no corrosion is found put engine back in storage. Use procedures in para. 4. B. steps (1) to (12).

C. De-preservation of the engine
(1)
Make sure that the APU generator is correctly attached (Ref. TASK 24-23-51-400-001).
(2)
Make sure that the oil level is correct (Ref. TASK 49-90-00-600-001).
(3)
Do a check of the oil filter elements for contamination, replace if necessary (Ref. TASK 49-91-41-200-001) and (Ref. TASK 49-91-45-200-002).
