AIR SUPPLY - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION______________________________________
R R R  1. General_______ The air supply system supplies pressurized air to the potable water system (Ref. 38-10-00). The pressurized air moves the potable water from the potable water tank to the galleys and lavatories.
R R  2. Component Location__________________ For the location of the components in the air supply system refer to the chapter Air Supply System (Ref. 38-41-00).
R R R R R R R  3. System Description__________________ Bleed air from the main engines or Auxilliary Power Unit (APU) supplies the air to pressurize the potable water system. On the ground you can use a ground air-pressurre supply when the engines or APU bleed air is not available. The norpressure for the potable water system is between 25 psi (1.72 bar) and 28 psi (1.93 bar). (Ref. 38-41-00).
R R R  4. Interface_________ The air supply system has interfaces with: - the bleed air system (Ref. 36-11-00), - the potable water system (Ref. 38-10-00).

 3. System Description
__________________
 A. Compressed air line
In the compressed air line there is:
 -
A shuttle valve that directs the pressurized air. The system is supplied from the bleed air crossfeed-line or from the ground pressure connection.

 -
A check valve that lets compressed air flow only in the direction of the water tank (If a decrease in pressure of the supply source occurs).

 -
A pressure reducing and relief valve that reduces the compressed air pressure to the system working pressure (If the pressure is too high, the valve releases it).

 B. Potable water-service panel
On the potable water-service panel there is:

 (1) A ground pressure connection to pressurize the water system when the engines or the APU do not operate.
