 (1)
 Open the access panel to the potable water shutoff valve. (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 38-32-42-991-005-B)

 (2)
 Close the shutoff valve (1) in the potable water system.

 (3)
 Open the sanitary cabinet door.

 (4)
 Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the washbasin to collect the unwanted water.

 (1)
 Open the sanitary cabinet door.

 Close the shutoff valve (30) in the potable water system.

 (3)
 Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the washbasin to collect the unwanted water.

 A. Remove the washbasin assembly (Ref. TASK 38-32-43-000-002). Subtask 38-32-42-020-051
 B. Removal of the Washbasin Drain
 (1)
 Remove the grubscrew (3) and remove the operating handle (1).

 (2)
 Remove and discard the 0-ring (2).

 (3)
 Remove the screws (6) and the washers (5).

 (4)
 Remove the plate assembly (4).

 (5)
 Put an identification mark on the valve body (8) and the washbasin for the correct position on installation.

 (6)
 Removal of the plug assembly (16).

 (a)
 Remove and discard the retainer (12).

 (b)
 Remove the washer (13), the tube (14) and the spring (15).

 (c)
 Remove the plug assembly (16).

 

 (7)
 Remove the nut (11) and the collar (10).

 (8)
 Remove the valve body (8) and the operating mechanism.

 (9)
 Discard the seal (9).

 (10) Remove and discard the 0-ring (17).

 Remove the stopper (10).

 (2)
 Remove the strainer Plug (1).

 (3)
 Remove the filter (3).

 (4)
 Remove the clamp (9) and the hose (8).

 (5)
 Remove the collar nut (4).

 (6)
 Put an identification mark on the valve body (7) and the washbasin for the correct position on installation.

 (7)
