A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
Make sure that the water shutoff valve is in the closed position.

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the control cable.
(1)
Put the control cable (52) in position.
(2)
Insert the barrel end of the cable into the actuating link (51).
(3)
Install the actuating link (51) on the operating handle assembly (58) together with the cable (52) in the angle plate.
(4)
Make sure that the ball unit (59) is in the correct position.
(5)
Tighten the grub screw (50).
(6)
Install the crescent rings (53).
(7)
Install the treaded end of the control cable in the drain valve and tighten the grub screw (57).
(8)
Install the nut (56).
(9) Put the lever (55) in position and install the nut (54). Subtask 38-32-42-820-051
B. Adjustment of the Control Cable
(Ref. Fig. 404/TASK 38-32-42-991-010)
(1) Adjust the close position.
(a)
Put the operating handle (66) in the close position.
(b)
Make sure that the lever (65) contacts the close stop.
(c)
Make sure that the plug (60) is closed.
(d)
Loosen but do not remove the nut (63).
(e)
Adjust the nut (61) and make sure that the distance between the lever (62) and the plug assembly rod (64) is between 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.) and 1.0 mm (0.0393 in.).

(2) Operate the operating handle (66) and make sure that the system operates smoothly.

C. Installation.
(1)
Install the wash basin assembly (Ref. TASK 38-32-43-400-002).
(2)
Install of the lavatory mirror (Ref. TASK 25-45-13-400-001).

Remove the container.
(b)
Open the shutoff valve (1).
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 38-32-42-991-005-B)

D. Leal check of the wash basin drain.
(1)
Close the wash basin drain valve
(2)
Put a container(s) 5.0 l drain mast 4DU and 14DU.
(3)
Put approximately 2.0 l (0.5283 USgal) of water into the wash basin.
(4)
Make sure that the water does not flow from the wash basin.
(5)
Examine the wash basin drain for leaks.
NOTE : Leaks are not permitted.

Open the wash basin drain.
(7)
Make sure that the water flows from the wash basin.
(8)
Remove the container(s).
