 The passenger cabin is devided into different zones defined by the customer seat layout. Four strips of fluorescent lamps illuminate the passenger cabin zones. Each strip consists of many fluorescent lamps. The four strips in each cabin zone are divided into two pairs for control purposes. These are the inboard pair, CEILING lights and the outboard pair, WINDOW lights. Both pairs of strips in each cabin zone can be selected to three different brightness levels. These are, full brightness (BRT), half brightness (DIM 1), and 10 % of full brightness (DIM 2).

 Fluorescent lamps installed in ceiling panels illuminate the entrance areas. This lighting is controlled separately from the cabin lighting. These can be selected to three different brightness levels in exactly the same way as the cabin lights. The brightness levels are, full brightness (BRT), half brightness (DIM 1) and 10 % of full brightness (DIM 2).
