A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2)
Make sure that the FWD and/or AFT cargo-compartment door(s) (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-001) is (are) open.
(3)
Make sure that the access platform are in position at the FWD and/or AFT cargo-compartment door.
(4)
Make sure that the FWD Loading-Area Light switch 7LU and/or the AFT Loading-Area Light switch 9LU is in the ON position.
(5)
Make sure that the applicable cargo-compartment ceiling panel is removed: FOR 11LU 131AC (Ref. TASK 25-54-12-000-002). FOR 12LU 151CC (Ref. TASK 25-55-11-000-002).
(6)
Make sure that you have access to the applicable 2000VU series panel(s).

A. Installation of the Loading-Area Light
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Installation of the Bulb of the Loading-Area Light
(Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 33-34-12-991-002)
CAUTION : DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS.
_______ THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
(a)
Install the bulb (5) in the loading-area light housing (6).
(b)
Install the lens (4), together with the sealing (3) and the clamping ring (2).
(c)
Tighten the screw (1) of the clamping ring (2).
(4) Installation of the Loading-Area Light Housing
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 33-34-12-991-001)
(a)
Put the loading-area light-housing (10) in position on the bracket (3).
(b)
Put the gasket (4) in positon on the bracket assembly (5) and install the screws (9), the washers (8) and the nuts (12) on the bracket (3).
(c)
Do not fully tighten the screws (9) at this stage. NOTE : The loading-area light-housing (10) is now clamped between
____ the bracket assembly (5) and the bracket (3).
(d)
Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.
(e)
Use the INSERTION/REMOVAL TOOL (M81969-14-02) to connect the electrical connectors (11).
(f)
Install the loading-area light-housing (10) with the screws (2), the washers (1) and the nuts (13) on the bracket (14) on the aircraft structure.
(g)
Install the access panel (6) with the screws (7) on the bracket assembly (5).
(h) Now fully tighten the screws (9). R **ON A/C 151-199, 401-499,
