S 975-107
(9)
Collect the third set of samples:
(a)
Read the weight on each wheel from the scales and write the data in Figure 507, in the WHEEL WEIGHT, SAMPLE 3 column.
(b)
Read the counts for each load sensor with WBC mode-22 and write the data in Figure 508, in the SENSOR COUNTS, SAMPLE 3 column.
K. Decrease Body Strut Pressure
NOTE: In the steps that follow, you will decrease the pressure in the
____ shock struts of the body landing gear. You will not collect data.
S 865-147
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE TOTAL WEIGHT ON THE NOSE WHEELS DECREASE BELOW
_______
10,000 LBS. THE AIRPLANE CAN TIP.
(1) Decrease the pressure in the shock struts of the body landing gear until the total weight on the nose wheels is between 10,000 and 10,500 lbs:
(a)
If restraining straps are used on the nose landing gear, make sure that they are not tight.
(b)
Decrease the pressure in increments of approximately 100 psi.
(c)
Make sure the pressure difference between the two shock struts of the body landing gear is always less than 50 psi.
S 865-050
(2) Stop for a minimum of 10 minutes to let the struts, WBS, and scales become stable.
L. Collect Data at Normal Strut Pressure - Third Time (Figures 509 and 510)
NOTE: In the steps that follow, you will increase the pressure in the
____ shock struts of the body landing gear to normal. Then you will collect scales data for Figure 509 and WBC data for Figure 510.
S 865-051
(1) Increase the pressure in the shock struts of the body landing gear to within 50 psi of the pressures written in Figure 502.
