(2)
Do this task: Ground Test - Flight Recorder System
(AMM 31-31-00/501).
(a)
During the ground test, make sure that the red and yellow LEDs on the DFDAC come on.
(b)
When the test is completed, make sure that PASS shows adjacent to the FLIGHT RECORDER selection on the CDU.
(c)
Make sure the red and yellow LEDs go off after approximately 20 seconds.
E. Accelerometer Operational Test

(1) Get access to the CMC Input Monitoring function on a CDU:
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU.
(b)
Push the line select key adjacent to <CMCS.
(c)
Push the line select key adjacent to <OTHER FUNCTIONS.
(d)
Push the line select key adjacent to <INPUT MONITORING.

(2) Do a test of the vertical acceleration signal:
(a)
Put C/020/340/00 into the scratchpad with the CDU keys.
(b)
Push the upper left line select key.
(c)
Push the line select key adjacent to HEX>.
(d)
Make sure that the display shows a value between X73E0007 and X7B10007 (where X can be all hexadecimal characters).
NOTE: If you do not get a correct value, make sure that the
____ airplane is level. The airplane must be level with a tolerance of 0.25 degrees. Use a plumb-bob or an equivalent tool to make sure that the airplane is level.

(3) Do a test of the lateral acceleration signal:
(a)
Put C/020/341/00 into the scratchpad with the CDU keys.
(b)
Push the upper left line select key.

3. Ground Test - Flight Recorder System____________________________________
A. General
(1) The CMCS ground test of the Flight Recorder System puts the Digital Flight Data Acquisition Card (DFDAC) into the test mode. When the DFDAC completes it test, it sends the results back to the CMC. The test includes a BITE test of the Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR).
