UNDERWATER LOCATOR BEACON - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
A removal of the underwater locator beacon (ULB).
(2)
A replacement of the ULB Battery.
(3)
An operational test of the ULB.
(4)
An installation of the ULB.
B. The underwater locator beacon ULB is attached to the front of the flight data recorder. The flight data recorder is installed on the E8 electronic equipment rack in the aft equipment center.

(1) The ULB has a battery as the power source. The ULB has no external electrical connections.
