PITCH ATTITUDE SENSOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. There are three tasks in this procedure. The first task is the removal of the pitch attitude sensor (PAS). The second task is the installation of the PAS. The installation task includes a PAS calibration and a PAS test.
B. The PAS, T1454, is on a bracket on the forward bulkhead of the main equipment center. There is an electrical connector on the side of the PAS.
C. Shims align the PAS to the correct tolerance. The shims are bonded to the bracket. Make sure you do not accidentally remove the shims when you remove the PAS. If you accidentally remove the shims, install them into their correct positions when you install the PAS.

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P414 Power Distribution Center - Left 1) 414K20 WT & BAL
(b)
P415 Power Distribution Center - Right 1) 415G21 WBS CHB ALT
S 024-037
(2) Remove the PAS:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector.
(b)
Remove the three screws.
(c)
Remove the PAS.

3. Pitch Attitude Sensor Installation (Fig. 401)

A. General
(1) This task includes a calibration procedure for the new PAS. You must find the pitch attitude of the airplane and use the weight and balance computer (WBC) to put the pitch attitude into the new PAS.

(2) Install the PAS:
(a)
Put the PAS against the bracket.
(b)
Install the three screws.
(c)
Connect the electrical connector DT1454.
