Make sure the correct software part number shows.
1) If the part number is not correct, then do this task: ACMS Data Management Unit Software Installation (AMM 31-35-10/201) or replace the DMU.

(4) Do a software configuration check of the QAR and a test of QAR operation:
(a)
Make sure that an optical disk is installed in the QAR drive.
(b)
Do these steps to do a software configuration check of the QAR:
NOTE: You must know the correct software part number for the
____ QAR. For the QAR to be an approved installation, software with the correct part number must be installed.
1) Push the MODE switch on the QAR front panel.
2) Push the + switch until S/W Version shows on the QAR.
3) Push the SET switch.
4) Make sure that the correct software part number shows.
a) If the part number is not correct, then do this task: Quick Access Recorder (QAR) Software Installation (AMM 31-35-02/201) or replace the QAR with one that has the correct software.

(c) Do a test of QAR operation: 1) Push the MODE switch on the front of the QAR. 2) Push the + or - switch on the QAR until 1 ACQUISITION shows
on the QAR display. 3) Push the SET switch on the QAR. 4) Push the MENU key on the center CDU. 5) Push the line select key adjacent to <ACMS. 6) Push the line select key adjacent to <DEVICE INTERFACES. 7) Push the line select key adjacent to <QAR. 8) Push the line select key adjacent to <START QAR.
a) Make sure that the QAR display shows RAW:XXXXX:YYYYY (where XXXXX is the input subframe counter and YYYYY is the record data subframe counter).
b) Make sure that the input subframe counter (XXXXX value)
increases. 9) Push the line select key adjacent to <STOP QAR. 10) Push the MODE switch on the QAR. 11) Push the - switch until the QAR shows 0 Annunciations. 12) Push the SET switch. 13) Make sure that OQAR Ready shows on the QAR display.
(d) Do a check of the QAR disk status:
1) Push the line select key adjacent to <QAR STATUS. a) Make sure that the CDU shows this: STATUS OK. b) Make sure that the CDU shows this: TAPE LOW NOTLOW.
2) Push the MENU key on the CDU.

3. Ground Test - Airplane Condition Monitoring System

A. General
(1) The CMCS ground test of the Airplane Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) puts the ACMS Data Management Unit (DMU) into the test mode. When the DMU completes the test, it sends the results back to the CMC.
