WARNING: MAKE SURE THE GROUND LOCKS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING
_______ GEAR. WITHOUT THE GROUND LOCKS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (4)
Make sure the ground locks are installed on the nose and main landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

 S 865-028

 (5)
Adjust the inflation pressures of the tires and landing gear shock struts to standard flight tolerant levels. Shock struts must be within | 50 psi of specified value.

 (6)  Place individual wheel scales under each nose wheel.
NOTE: This step also serves to settle the In-Axle-Mount rings.
____
 (a)
Lift the nose wheels off the ground on a jack (AMM 07-11-03/201).

 (b)
Position a scale under each nose wheel as close to centered as possible.

 (c)
Lower the nose wheels onto the scales.

 (d)
Lift the nose wheels fully off the scales.

 (e)
Tare each scale to read -25 to +25 lbs.

 (f)
Lower the nose wheels onto the scales.

 S 865-163
 (7)  Read the total weight on both nose wheels from the scales.
 (a)  If both nose wheels total less than 24,000 lbs, increase the body gear strut pressures equally until the nose wheel weights total at least 24,000 lbs.
 S 865-164
 (8)  Read the weight on each nose wheel from the scales.
 (a)
Make sure that the two nose wheel weights are not more than 2,000 lbs apart.

 (b)
If the two nose wheel weights are more than 2000 lbs apart, adjust the nose wheel tire pressures to get a difference between nose wheel weights of less than 2000 lbs while remaining within allowable in-service tire limits.

NOTE: Increasing nose wheel tire pressure increases the weight
____ on that nose wheel while decreasing the weight on the opposite nose wheel.
 (c)  If the nose wheel tire pressures cannot be set within allowable limits to get nose wheel weights within specified limits, do these steps. 1) Maintain nose wheel tire pressures at the last in-service
 maximum.
 2)  Adjust the wing and body gear shock struts within allowable limits until the difference in nose wheel weight is less than 2000 lbs.

 S 865-153
 (1)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (3)  Do these steps to use mode 22 of the WBC to read sensor counts and write the data in Figure 516:
NOTE: You will use mode 22 to read sensor counts while the
____ airplane nose gear is on jacks for Figure 516.
 (a)
Push the MODE key.

 (b)
Push the 2 key twice.

 (c)
Push the ENTER key.

 (d)
When OK? shows, push the YES key.

 (e)
When CNTS 1 shows, push the + key to get the CNTS 17F display.

 (f)
When CNTS 17F shows, read the sign and number that show to the right of CNTS 17F.

 (g)
Push the right arrow key to get the counts for the other sensors.

 (h)
Push the RESET key to stop this mode. (The WBC shows PROCESS ABORTED.)
