WARNING: MAKE SURE THE GROUND LOCKS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING
_______ GEAR. WITHOUT THE GROUND LOCKS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure the ground locks are installed on the nose and main landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

(2) Install the protective cover clamps:
(a)
Use BMS3-2 type 1 solvent (Refer to BAC5750) to clean the painted surfaces where the straps will touch.
(b)
Put the clamps into their position around the wheel truck.
(c)
Install one strip of MYSTIC No. 7355 mylar tape between each clamp and the wheel truck.
NOTE: Make an overlap of approximately one inch with the ends
____
of the tape.
(d) Tighten the nuts on the clamps finger tight.

(3) Install the protective covers:
(a)
Put the protective cover on the 45 degree elbow.
(b)
Install the nut on the 45 degree elbow on the inner part of the protective cover.
(c)
Attach the protective cover to the clips and blocks on the clamps with the three nuts and washers.
(d)
Attach the forward, top clamp to the protective cover with the nut, bolt, washer, and spacer. 1) Make sure that the location of the protective cover is
correct (Fig. 403).
a) Loosen the nuts on the clamps and the 45 degree elbow
to move the protective cover (Fig. 402). 2) Tighten the nuts on each clamp to 12 lb-in (1.4 N-M). 3) Tighten the nut on the 45 degree elbow with your fingers,
plus 1/8 turn.
(e)
Make sure that the length of each wire bundle is correct as measured from the 45 degree elbow to the end of the wire (do not include pins).
(f)
Install the plug on each wire bundle.
(g)
Put each wire bundle in the correct position.
(h)
Install the clamps and screws on each wire bundle.
(i)
Install each load sensor (AMM 31-41-05/401).

MAWEA - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General (Fig. 1)_______
A. The Modularized Avionics Warning Electronics Assembly (MAWEA) is a card file containing cards that generate signals for:
(1)
Stall warning (Ref 27-32-00)
(2)
Configuration warning (takeoff and landing) (Ref 31-52-00)
(3)
Altitude alert (Ref 34-16-00)
(4)
Speed brake alert (Ref 27-62-00)
(5)
Illumination of the master warning lights (Ref 31-52-00)
(6)
Generation of all aurals in the flight deck (Ref 31-52-00)
B. The MAWEA is 29 inches x 20 inches x 14 inches in size (it does not fit in MCU size category), weighs 70 pounds, and contains 18 card slots and two power supplies. The cards are readily accessible as there are no doors on front of the MAWEA. There are two panels secured by four Dzus fasteners which cover the power supplies.
