D. Installation of Mounting Adapters on the Sensor

(1) Get two mounting adapters (4,5, Fig. 403) and two mounting bolts and washers (1) that you kept during sensor removal.
NOTE: New mounting adapters and mounting bolts must be used if
____ locations are not marked on mounting adapters.

(2) Install the outboard adapter on the sensor (Fig. 403, Sh. 1):
NOTE: Make sure the sensor nameplate faces away from the adapter

and the sensor mounting surfaces.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT STRETCH THE BELLOWS OF THE SENSOR (2). DAMAGE TO THE SENSOR CAN OCCUR IF YOU STRETCH THE BELLOWS.
(a) Put the electrical connector end of the sensor into the outboard mounting adapter (4) and snap the sensor into place.
CAUTION: DO NOT HOLD THE ADAPTER SPRING TANG (3) WITH THE VISE.
_______ THE VISE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SPRING TANG.
(b)
Put the outboard mounting adapter (4) into a vise.
(c)
Put the mounting bolt and washer (1) through the sensor and the outboard adapter.
(d)
Tighten the sensor mounting bolt to 50 |5 pound-inches.
(e)
Remove the assembly from the vice.

(3) Install the inboard mounting adapter on the sensor
(Fig. 403, Sh. 2):
CAUTION:_______DO NOT STRETCH THE BELLOWS OF THE SENSOR (2). DAMAGE TO THE SENSOR CAN OCCUR IF YOU STRETCH THE BELLOWS.
(a) Put the other end of the sensor into the inboard mounting adapter (5) and snap the sensor into place.

CAUTION: DO NOT HOLD THE ADAPTER SPRING TANG (3) WITH THE VISE.
_______ THE VISE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SPRING TANG.
(b)
Put the inboard mounting adapter (5) into a vise.
(c)
Put the mounting bolt and washer (1) through the sensor and the inboard mounting adapter.
(d)
Tighten the sensor mounting bolt to 50 |5 pound-inches.
(e)
Remove the assembly from the vise.
E. Installation of Sensor in the In-Axle Mount Assembly

(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are open with DO-NOT-CLOSE tags attached:

P414 Power Distribution Center - Left
1) 414K20 WT & BAL
(b)
P415 Power Distribution Center - Right
1) 415G21 WBS CHB ALT

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE GROUND LOCKS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING
_______ GEAR. WITHOUT THE GROUND LOCKS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2)
Make sure the ground locks are installed on the nose and main landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

Check and clean the in-axle mount:
(a) Make sure that there is no unwanted material between the rings of the in-axle mount (11, 12, Fig. 402) and the inner surface of the axle.
