A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the special precaution of the door damper and emergency operation cylinder is completed (Ref. TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(2)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the partly opened emergency exit door (referred to as door) (Ref. TASK 52-22-00-010-001).
(3)
Make sure that the door lining is removed (Ref. TASK 25-23-47-000-012) or (Ref. TASK 25-23-47-000-013).

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Proximity Switch
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 52-71-13-991-002)
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.
(4)
Install the proximity sensor (2) as follow:
(a)
Put the proximity sensor (2) in position in the attachment bracket (3).
(b)
Install the lockwasher (4) and the locknut (5) at the proximity sensor (2).
NOTE : Make sure that the lockwasher (4) is correctly engaged in
____ the related hole in the attachment bracket (3).
(c)
TORQUE the locknut (5) to max. to 3.0 m.daN (22.12 lbf.ft).
(d)
Safety the locknut (5) and the lockwasher (4) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel, dia. 0.8 mm (0.032 in).
(e)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(f)
Connect the connector (1) to the proximity sensor (2).
(5) Install the target (6) as follows:
(a)
Install the target (6) at the shaft lever (9).
(b)
Install the lockwasher (7) and the nut (8) on the target (6). NOTE : Do not tighten the locknut (8) at this time.

B. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
(1) Measure the clearance between the proximity sensor (2) and its related target (6).
NOTE : The clearance must be between 1.6 mm (0.0629 in.) and 2.0 mm

(0.0787 in.).
(2) If necessary, adjust the target position as follows:
(a)
Turn the target (6) until the clearance between the proximity sensor (2) and the target (6) is correct.
(b)
When the clearance is correct, tighten the nut (8).
(c)
Safety the locknut (8) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel, dia. 0.8 mm (0.032 in).

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 48WV, 13WN, 15WN

D. Do an operational test to make sure that the proximity switch operates correctly (Ref. TASK 52-71-00-710-001).
