4. Procedure

A. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
(Ref. Fig. 519/TASK 52-71-00-991-022)
WARNING : DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR DURING THE ADJUSTMENT.

(1)
Make sure that the door is open.
(2)
Disconnect the electrical connector of the proximity switch.
(3)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(4)
Measure the clearance J2 between the target (1) and the proximity sensor (2).
-The clearance J2 must be 5.2 mm (0.2047 in.) min.
(5)
Close the avionics compartment door 822 (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(6)
Measure the clearance J1 between the target (1) and the proximity sensor (2).
-The clearance J1 must be 1 -0.5 +0.5 mm (0.0393 -0.0196 +0.0196 in.).
(7)
If the clearance J1 is not in the tolerances, adjust as follows:
(a)
Loosen the screws (3), (4), (5) until you can move the support assy. Adjust the position of the proximity switch to get the correct clearance J1.
(b)
Tighten the screws (3), (4), (5).
(8)
Connect the electrical connector of the proximity switch.

Open the avionics compartment door 822 (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(3)
Get out of the avionics compartment.
(4)
Close the avionics compartment door 822 (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 52-71-00-862-071
B. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
