A. Visual inspection
(1)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Proximity Switch
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 52-71-12-991-001)
(1)
Install the proximity sensor (4) as follows:
(a)
Put the proximity sensor (4) in position on the bracket (1) and attach it with the bolts (2), the washers (11) and the nuts (10).
(b)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (3) and the receptacle of the proximity sensor (4).
(c)
Connect the electrical connector (3) on the proximity switch (4).
(2)
Put the target (9) in position on the door handle (6) and attach it with the bolts (5), the washers (7) and the nut (9).

C. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
(1)
Make sure that the cargo door is correctly locked with the door handle (6) in the recess of the door structure.
(2)
Measure the clearance between the target (9) and the proximity sensor (4).
NOTE : The clearance must be between 1.6 mm (0.0629 in.) and 2.0 mm

(3) If the clearance is out of tolerance, change the position of the
proximity sensor (4) and the target (9) as necessary.

R B. Installation of the Proximity Switch
R (Ref. Fig. 401A/TASK 52-71-12-991-001-A)
R (1) Install the proximity sensor (4) as follows:
R (a) Put the bolts (2) and the shim set (5) on the proximity sensor
R (4).
R (b) Put the proximity sensor (4) in position and attach it with the
R bolts (2).
R (c) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (1) and
R the receptacle of the proximity sensor (4).
R (d) Install the electrical connector (1) on the proximity switch (4).
R (e) Put the handle flap (6) on the door structure and attach it with
R the screws (3) (Ref. TASK 52-31-21-400-002).
R (2) Installation of the Target (7)
R (a) Install the target (7) in the slot of the handle cover (8).
R (b) Install the nut (9) on the target (7) and tighten.
R (c) Install the handle cover (8) in the end of the locking handle
R (11).
R (d) Install the screws (10) in the locking handle (11) and tighten.

R C. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
R (1) Make sure that the cargo door is correctly locked with the locking
R handle (11) in the recess of the handle flap (6).
R (2) Measure the clearance between the target (7) and the proximity sensor
