Install the Uplock Sensor (Fig. 201)

(1)
Install the uplock sensor (1) as follows:
(a)
Twist the sensor wires together and attach the line to the ends.
NOTE: This is the line that you kept in the conduit during the
____
removal of the sensor.
(b)
Carefully pull the line to pull the sensor wires through the conduit.
(c)
Install the sensor (1) with the mounting nut (2).
NOTE: If the sensor bracket or shims have not been damaged or
____ removed, then no sensor adjustment is necessary. However, if the bracket or shims have been damaged or replaced, the sensor clearance must be checked and adjusted (Refer to the task to Adjust the Body Gear Uplock Sensor).
(d)
Cut the sensor wires to the correct length and install the terminal lugs (8).
(e)
Connect the sensor wires to the terminal strip with the washers (7), lockwashers (6), and nuts (5).
(f)
Make sure the terminals are connected correctly.
NOTE: Use the color codes of the wires to help you.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker (as applicable) on the P7 panel:

Do the task which does a test of the uplock sensor.

Open this circuit breaker (as applicable) on the P7 panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a)
7F22, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT PRI

7F23, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT ALTN

(5) Continue the installation procedure.
CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU SEAL THE ELECTRICAL TERMINALS CORRECTLY. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN HAVE SHORTED OR BURNED OUT SENSORS CAUSED BY UNWANTED MATERIAL THAT CAN GO INTO THE JUNCTION BOX.
(a)
Seal the electrical terminals: 1) Clean the bare surface of the terminals with the solvent. 2) Apply a thin layer of the primer on the bare surface of the
terminals with a brush. Let the primer dry. 3) Apply the sealant on the surface of the terminals with a short bristle brush.
(b)
Hand tighten the conduit nut (3) on the sensor (1). 1) Install lockwire.
(c)
Install the cover on the junction box (J19 LH, J20 RH).

A. Standard Tools and Equipment
(1)
Actuating Tool - (0.5 inch diameter, 24 inches long) with rubber sleeve (Recommended tool)
(2)
Wood bar with adequate length to move uplock mechanism (Alternative tool)
