(1)
Install the lube insert (13) in the apex pin (15).
(a)
Make sure the O-rings (12) on the lube insert (13) are not worn or damaged.
(b)
Apply a layer of grease on the O-rings (12), the lube insert (13), and the inner surface of the apex pin (15).
(c)
Install the lube insert (13) with O-rings (12) in the apex pin (15).

Connect the steering actuators to the torsion link.
(a)
Install the spindle (4) in the torsion link.
(b)
Install the splined collar (21) and the spindle nut (17).
(c)
Tighten the spindle nut to 180 to 200 pounds-feet, then loosen the nut and tighten it again by hand to nearest castellation.
(d)
Install the lockbolt (18), washer (19), and nut (20).
(e)
Apply tamper proof putty to the nut (20).
(f)
Put the rod end of the right steering actuator in its position on the spindle (4).
(g)
Put the rod end of the left steering actuator in its position on the spindle (4).
(h)
Install the nylon alignment washers (16) between the rod ends of the steering actuators and the spindle (4).
(i)
Install the apex pin (15), with the lube insert (13) installed, through the rod ends of the actuators and the spindle (4).
(j)
Install the splined washer (22) and the nut (24).

Tighten the nut (24) to 80 to 100 pounds-feet, then loosen the nut and tighten it again by hand to the nearest castellation.

Install the lockbolt (23), washer (25), and nut (26).
(m)
Apply tamper proof putty to the nut (26).

Hold the washers (1, 3, 5, and 6), the hydraulic clamp (11), the trapeze (9), and the shaft (10) in their positions, and install the nut (2).
