 BODY GEAR DOWNLOCK SENSORS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks. These tasks remove and install the downlock sensor for the body landing gear.
 B.  The primary (S401, left and S403, right) and the alternate (S414, left and S413, right) downlock sensors attach to the upper jury strut at the jury strut apex.
 C.  It is not necessary to lift the airplane with a jack. You adjust the clearance between the sensor and the target with the gear in the down position.

 2.  Remove the Downlock Sensor for the Body Gear____________________________________________
 A.  Standard Tools and Equipment
 (1)
Plastic Scraper - that is not abrasive, that is not a conductor

Install the ground locks in all the landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

_______ LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  Do this task: Installation of the Door Locks on the Wing Landing Gear (AMM 32-00-30/201).

_______ SENSITIVE SYSTEMS FOR THE AIR MODE. FAILURE TO DO THE STEPS CORRECTLY CAN CAUSE THE AUTOMATIC OPERATION OF AIRPLANE SYSTEMS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (4)  
Do this task: Prepare Safety-Sensitive Systems for Air Mode Simulation (AMM 32-09-02/201).

 (5)  
Open these circuit breakers on the overhead circuit breaker panel, P7, and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
7F23, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT ALTN

 (b)  
7F22, LANDING GEAR DSP & CONT PRI

Remove the Downlock Sensor (Fig. 401)

 (1)  
Remove the cover from the junction box (J56 LH, J57 RH).

 (2)  
Disconnect the sensor wires:

 (a)  
Remove the sealing compound from the electrical terminals with the plastic scraper.

 (b)  
Make a note of the terminal positions and the wire color.

 (c)  
Disconnect the sensor wires from the terminal strip.

 (d)  
Carefully remove the terminal lugs from the wires.

 (e)  
Attach a line to the sensor wires that is longer than the length of the conduit.


 NOTE: You will use this line to pull the sensor wires through
____ the conduit, during the installation.
