WING GEAR TRUCK TILT SENSOR - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General
_______
A. The primary and alternate sensors are installed on a support bracket on the upper torsion link. Each primary (S417 LH, S416 RH) and alternate (S615, LH, S614 RH) sensor pair is installed on one support bracket. The brackets are installed on the upper torsion link.
B. When you replace the sensor, it is usually not necessary to adjust the clearance between the sensor and target unless the sensor or target is damaged.
C. This subject has these tasks:
(1)
Removal of the truck tilt sensor for the wing gear
(2)
Installation of the truck tilt sensor for the wing gear
(3)
Removal of the truck tilt sensor target bracket for the wing gear
(4)
Installation of the truck tilt sensor target bracket for the wing gear
(5)
Adjustment of the truck tilt sensor for the wing gear
(6)
Test of the truck tilt sensor for the wing gear

_______ AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that ground locks are installed on all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Install the door locks for the main gear (AMM 32-00-30/201).

_______ THE SAFETY SENSITIVE SYSTEMS FOR THE AIR MODE. FAILURE TO DO THE STEPS CORRECTLY CAN CAUSE THE AUTOMATIC OPERATION OF AIRPLANE SYSTEMS. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Prepare the airplane for the air mode (AMM 32-09-02/201).

For removal of the alternate sensor, open this circuit breaker on the P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel and install a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:

For removal of the primary sensor, open this circuit breaker on the P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel and install a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:

Remove the Truck Tilt Sensor (Fig. 201)

Do these steps to disconnect the sensor wires:
(a)
Remove the cover from the junction box installed near the sensor.
NOTE: The junction box is near the sensor switch on the
____ upper torsion link of the wing gear.
