 (1) Remove the hydraulic power of system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Connect the torsion links of the nose landing gear and install the apex pin.

Connect the steering actuators of the body landing gear (31, and 32) to the lower torsion links (Fig. 402).

 (a)  
Install the spindle (19) in the torsion link.

 (b)  
Install the splined collar (24), and the nut (20). 1) Tighten the nut (20) 180 to 200 pound-feet. 2) Loosen the nut (20) and tighten by hand to the nearest

 castellation.

 (c)  
Install the lockbolt (21) and attach with the washer (22) and the nut (23).

 (d)  
Apply tamper proof putty to nut (23) until some movement of the nut can cause the seal to break.

 (e)  
Remove the splined washer (30) and the nut (27).

 (f)  
Move the torsion link in its position.

 (g)  
Align the actuator (32) rod end above the spindle (19).

 (h)  
Turn the actuator (31) in the apex and move the nylon alignment washers (18) in its position.

 (i)  
Install the splined washer (30) and the nut (27). 1) Tighten the nut (27) 80 to 100 pound-feet.

 2)  Loosen the nut (27) and tighten by hand to the nearest castellation.
 (j)  
Safety the nut (27) with the lockbolt (26), the washer (28), and the nut (29).

 (k)  
Apply tamper proof putty to nut (29) until some movement of the nut can cause the seal to break.

Remove the support stand of the steering actuators of the body landing gear.

Install the bolt (6) through washers (4, 1, 2, and 3), the hydraulic clamp, the trapeze (8), and the shaft (9).

 (a)  
Safety with the nut (5) and the cotter pin (7).

 (6)  
Install the clamps, the electrical connector shield, and the hydraulic bracket on the actuators (Fig. 401).

 (a)  
Clean the actuator with solvent.

 (b)  
Wind polyethylene (or polyester) tape around actuator where the clamps will be installed.

 (c)  
Make sure the tape will extend 0.12 inch more than the edges of the clamps (see dimensions in Fig. 401).

 (d)  
Install the two top floating stud assemblies on clamp B (3) (which includes clips (18), blocks (19), and bolts (20) as shown in view I-I).

 (e)  
Install the two bottom floating stud assemblies on clamp B (3) (which includes clips (6), blocks (7), and bolts (12)) as shown in view E-E).

 (f)  
Install clamp B (3) on the actuator to the dimension in view A-A.


 NOTE: Do not tighten the clamp.

 (g)  
Install the two floating stud assemblies on clamp C (14) (which includes clips (18), blocks (19), and bolts (20) as shown in view I-I).

 (h)  
Install clamp C (14) on the actuator in the position shown in view F-F.


 NOTE: Do not tighten the clamp.

 (i)  
Align the lugs on the hydraulic bracket (13) with the bolts (20) in the top floating stud assemblies on clamps B (3) and C (14).

 (j)  
Install four nuts (17) on bolts (20).


 NOTE: Do not tighten.
