3. Control Wheel Push-To-Talk (PTT) Switch Installation (Fig. 401)____________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
This task installs the PTT switch on the control wheel.
(2)
This task has these parts:
(a)
An installation of a PTT switch on the PTT switch assembly.
(b)
An adjustment of the PTT switch in the PTT switch assembly prior to installation into the control wheel. 1) The adjustment is different for airplanes with or without a
detent plate for the lower INT switch position.
(c)
An installation of the PTT switch assembly to the control wheel.
B. Access

C. Procedure
S 424-015
(1) Install the PTT switch on the PTT switch assembly:
(a)
Put the PTT switch in the mount on the switch mount.
(b)
Turn the PTT switch clockwise until the switch stays in the switch mount.

(2) AIRPLANES WITHOUT DETENT PLATE;
AIRPLANES WITH DETACHED DETENT PLATE;
Adjust the PTT switches in the PTT switch assembly:
(a)
Turn the top PTT switch (MIC) in the switch mount until the switch body just touches the switch mount.
(b)
Turn the bottom PTT switch (INT) until the switch just touches the trigger.
(c)
Turn the bottom PTT switch clockwise 1/4 turn + or - 1/8 turn to preload the switch button.
(d)
Tighten the locking screw in the switch mount.

(3) AIRPLANES WITH DETENT PLATE ON SWITCH MOUNT;
Adjust the PTT switches in the PTT switch assembly:

(a)
Turn the top PTT switch (MIC) in the switch mount until the switch button touches the trigger.
(b)
Continue to turn the PTT switch until the ball in the bullet catch on the trigger just touches the switch detent.
(c)
Turn the bottom PTT switch (INT) until the switch just touches the trigger.
(d)
Turn the bottom PTT switch counterclockwise 1/4 turn.
(e)
Tighten the locking screw in the switch mount.

(4) Install the push-to-talk (PTT) switch assembly to the control wheel:
(a)
Connect the terminal lugs to the switches.
1) Make sure you install the correct wire on the correct terminal.
(b)
Carefully push the switch assembly into the control wheel.
(c)
Install and tighten the two mounting screws on the control wheel.
