(5) Do a test of the SELCAL system:
(a)
BEJ 001-104;
Set the Captain's audio selector panel to the VHF-1
communications system.
(b)
BEJ 001-104;
Tune the VHF-1 to an approved test frequency.
1) Make sure you can communicate on this system.
(c)
BEJ 001-104; Tell the control tower to transmit the SELCAL code for the VHF-1 communications system.
NOTE: If the transmitting station is not available, make a
____ SELCAL coded transmission with a SELCAL ground station encoder. Make sure the transmissions are approved.
1) Make sure you hear a continuous repeated chime from the aural warning speaker. 2) Make sure the SELCAL-1 light comes on.
(d)
BEJ 001-104; Push the PUSH-TO-RESET switch on the SELCAL control panel. 1) Make sure the light goes off and the chime stops.
(e)
Set the Captain's audio selector panel to the VHF-2
communication system.
(f)
Tune the VHF-2 to an approved frequency.
(g)
Tell the control tower to transmit the SELCAL code for the VHF-2 communications system.
NOTE: If the transmitting station is not available, make a
____ SELCAL coded transmission with a SELCAL ground station encoder. Make sure the transmissions are approved.
1) Make sure you hear a continuous repeated chime from the aural warning speaker. 2) Make sure the SELCAL-2 light comes on.
(h)
Push the PUSH-TO-RESET switch on the SELCAL control panel.
(i)
Make sure the light goes off and the chime stops.
