Refer to the data that follows:
(1)
Boarding music for playback on the passenger address system is provided by a magnetic tape reproducer installed on the E2-1 rack next to the PA amplifier. The music program is recorded on two reels of 1/4 inch magnetic tape providing playing time of 3 hours. Tape speed is 3-3/4 IPS. The tape will play in both directions with automatic switching during tape reversal to provide continuous entertainment.
(2)
Output from the transistorized preamplifier is 1 mw across a 500-ohm balanced line with a signal to noise ratio of 38 db minimun. The frequency response is | 2 db from 50 to 7,500 Hz.
(3)
Control is from a MUSIC OFF knob on the forward attendant panel. Power is supplied from 115 VAC and 28 VDC.
4. Passenger Address Speakers
__________________________
A. A 6.5 inch diameter speaker with matching transformer is installed in the PSU assembly for approximately every other row of seats. These speakers provide PA announcements and boarding music to the passengers.
B. A five inch diameter speaker and matching transformer is mounted in the ceiling of each lavatory.
C. Three overhead 6.5 inch diameter speakers are located at attendant stations. These speakers are connected in series through muting relays to the main audio output of the PA amplifier. The attendant speakers are muted whenever the adjacent attendant handset is used for PA announcements. The muting relays remove the input to the attendant speakers at the attendant station where the handset is keyed.
5. Forward Attendant Panel
