FLIGHT INTERPHONE SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. The test of the flight interphone system makes sure the system operates correctly.
B. This procedure contains one task:
(1) A system test of the Flight Interphone System.

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

(2)
Put the system to the listed condition:
(a)
Set all the monitor switches to the OFF position on the Audio Selector Panels (ASP).
(b)
Tune in an ADF or VHF station and set that station on the ASP.
(c)
Push the FLT INT buttons on all the ASPs to the on position. 1) Make sure the FLT INT light comes on.
(d)
Turn the FLT INT volume controls to approximately 1/2 max on all three ASPs.

(3) Do a Test of the Flight Interphone System:
(a)
Push the SPKR volume control on the captain's and the first officer's ASPs to the on position.
(b)
Turn the SPKR volume control to approximately 1/2 max on the captain's ASP.
(c)
Hold the captain's hand microphone approximately 12 inches (30 centimeters) from the captain's speaker.
(d)
Push the microphone button. 1) Make sure you hear no unwanted sound on the speaker. 2) Make sure the volume level of the speaker decreases.

(e)
Turn the SPKR volume control on the captain's ASP to the middle position.
(f)
Open the circuit breaker:
1) P6 Load Control Center - Right
a) C83, CAPT AUDIO
(g)
Make sure the volume level of the first officer's speaker does not decrease.
(h)
Make sure that no transmitter transmits. 1) Make sure the captain's VHF-1 microphone light comes on.
(i)
Close the circuit breaker: 1) P6 Load Control Center - Right
a) C83, CAPT AUDIO 2) Make sure the captain's FLT INT microphone light comes on.
(j)
Turn the SPKR volume control on the first officer's ASP to approximately 1/2 max.
(k)
Hold the first officer's hand microphone approximately 12 inches (30 centimeters) from the first officer's speaker.
(l)
Push the microphone button. 1) Make sure you hear no unwanted sound on the speaker. 2) Make sure the volume level of the speaker decreases.
(m)
Turn the SPKR volume control on the first officer's ASP to the middle position.
(n)
Open the circuit breaker:
1) P6 Load Control Center - Right
a) C86, F/O AUDIO
(o)
Make sure the volume level of the captain's speaker does not decrease.
(p)
Make sure that no transmitter transmits.
1) Make sure the first officer's VHF-2 microphone light comes on.
(q)
Close the circuit breaker: 1) P6 Load Control Center - Right a) C86, F/O AUDIO
2) Make sure the first officer's FLT INT microphone light comes on.
(r)
Use the flight crew's hand microphones and headphone jacks to speak. 1) Make sure you can hear on each headphone jack. 2) Make sure you can speak on each hand microphone.
(s)
Put the MASK/BOOM switch on the three ASP in the MASK position.
(t)
Push the top of the PTT switch on the captain's control wheel to the MIC position. 1) Make sure you can speak and hear between the captain's
