WARNING: REMOVE THE POWER FROM EACH HF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, BEFORE YOU
_______ REMOVE THE HF COMMUNICATION ANTENNA. HF SIGNALS CAN CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHOCKS AND INJURIES TO PERSONS.
(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P18 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) C839, HF-1 AC
2) C346, HF-1 DC
(b)
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) C857, HF-2 AC (if installed)
2) C477, HF-2 DC

(2) Remove the part of the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer that contains the HF communication antenna (AMM 55-33-11/401).

_______ INSTALL THE HF COMMUNICATION ANTENNA. HF SIGNALS CAN CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHOCKS AND INJURIES TO PERSONS.
(1) Make sure the applicable circuit breakers are open:
(a)
P18 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) C839, HF-1 AC
2) C346, HF-1 DC
(b)
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) C857, HF-2 AC (if installed)
2) C477, HF-2 DC

Install the part of the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer that contains the HF communication antenna (AMM 55-33-11/401).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)

2) C346, HF-1 DC
(b)
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel

HF VERTICAL FIN ANTENNA - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. This procedure has this task.
(1) An electrical bond check of the HF vertical fin antenna.
B. The HF vertical fin antenna is part of the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer.
C. You must remove the HF antenna coupler(s) to do the electrical bond check. The HF antenna coupler(s) are installed adjacent to the HF vertical fin antenna in the vertical stabilizer.
