 B.  A handheld microphone provides a PTT signal to input No. 2 of the PA amplifier.
 C.  AIRPLANES WITH A TAPE REPRODUCER ON THE E2-1 SHELF; The forward attendant panel contains a MUSIC OFF switch that adjust the volume and turns on the boarding music from the tape reproducer.
 6.  Attendant PA Microphones________________________
 A.  Attendant microphones are located in the passenger cabin at the attendant stations. All microphones are identical. A push-to-talk switch on the microphone must be pressed to complete microphone audio and control circuits to the PA system. Each microphone is equipped with a plug connector so that it may be easily replaced or used at another station having a PA microphone receptacle.
 7.  Audio Accessory Unit____________________
 A.  AIRPLANES WITH AN AUDIO ACCESSORY UNIT; The audio accessory unit contains the relays for speaker muting of the appropriate speakers relative to the forward or aft attendant microphones used to key the PA system.
 8.  Remote Electronics Unit_______________________
 A.  AIRPLANES WITH A REMOTE ELECTRONIC UNIT;
 Refer to the data that follows:

 (1)  
The remote electronics unit contains the relays for speaker muting of the appropriate speakers relative to the fwd or aft attendant microphones used to key the PA system.

 (2)  
The Remote Electronics Unit is also used in the Flight Interphone System, and the Cabin Interphone System. The R/I procedure is found in the Flight Interphone System manual (AMM 23-51-11/401).

 9.  Microphone Jack_______________
 A.  A microphone jack is located at the rear of the aft pilots' control stand P8. A hand-held microphone connected to this jack can be utilized for PA voice announcements.
 10. Operation (Fig. 2)_________
 A.  The PA system supplies voice messages and chime signals via speakers to all passengers and attendants in the passenger cabin.
 B.  The PA system also supplies boarding music via the speakers to the passenger cabin.
 C.  AIRPLANES WITH A WALL-MOUNTED TAPE REPRODUCER; The PA system also supplies prerecorded announcements to the passenger cabin.
 D.  PA sidetone is provided to the flight deck crewmembers via their audio selector panels.
 E.  PA inputs have an order of priority, when the PA receives an input it will cancel any input with a lower priority.
 F.  The PA input priority is as follows:
 (1)  Announcements from the flight compartment have the highest priority.
