Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Connect the headphone into the HEADSET or HEADPHONE jack on the voice recorder control panel.

Do the Operational Test for the control panel:
(a)
Push the TEST switch on the control panel for a minimum of five seconds. 1) Make sure that you hear a series of modulated sounds
through the headphone. 2) Make sure that the needle moves into the green area of the control panel meter.
(b)
Speak in a normal voice level while you are approximately four feet away from the area microphone. 1) Make sure that you hear your voice through the headphone at
the control panel.
D. Put the Airplane Back to the Usual Condition.

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
A removal of the underwater locator beacon (ULB).
(2)
A replacement of the ULB battery.
(3)
An operational test of the ULB.
(4)
An installation of the ULB.
B. The voice recorder is installed on the right side of the aft cargo compartment.
C. The ULB is attached to the front of the voice recorder.

2. Underwater Locator Beacon Removal (Fig. 201)_________________________________
A. General
(1) The ULB has a battery as the power source. The ULB has no external electrical connections.

Open the access panel in the aft cargo compartment to get access to the voice recorder.

Do this task: Voice Recorder Unit Removal (AMM 23-71-11/401).

(3)
Remove the underwater locator beacon (ULB) from the voice recorder.
(a)
Remove the four screws from the coverplate on the ULB cradle.
(b)
Remove the coverplate.
(c)
Pull the ULB from the ULB cradle.
(d)
Keep the coverplate and screws.

3. VOICE RECORDERS WITH DUKANE ULBs; Underwater Locator Beacon Battery Replacement (Fig. 202)_____________________________________________
A. General
(1) Do not replace the battery in the DK100 underwater locator beacon (ULB). On or before the expired date, send the DK100 to the manufacturer for servicing.
